Surface area and volume
What this topic asks you to be able to do
- Carry out calculations and solve problems on the surface area and volume of a cuboid, prism, cylinder, sphere, pyramid or cone. You may be asked to leave answers in terms of π. The List of formulas gives the curved surface area of a cylinder and of a cone, the surface area of a sphere, and the volume of a prism, pyramid, cylinder, cone and sphere. A prism here is any solid whose cross-section is uniform, e.g. a cylindrical sector.
