For parents and guardians

See how the week went. Never the chats.

Kindred is an AI tutor your child can bring a problem to. It's built to ask them to try first, then give hints before answers. You get a short Monday summary of their week and a map of their syllabus, and you can't read their chats.

Under 16? A parent or guardian has to connect with your child before chat, practice, their revision plan, sessions and messages open.

What you get as a parent or guardian

A Monday summary

Each Monday morning, by email and in the app, whenever there was activity to report. It shows how many questions your child asked, the syllabus topics those fell under, how much practice they handed in, and what is worth revisiting. It is free, on every plan, and your child can read the same one.

Their syllabus map

Which parts of their syllabus they have asked about, practised and still need work on. Secure means right first time, before any hint, on three different questions spread over at least a week. Chat and hinted answers never make it secure.

A say in sessions, if they are under 16

When a student under 16 books a session with a tutor, the booking waits for your OK.

Progress notes from their tutor

Their tutors' notes in one place. You can reply, and you can message your child too.

What you see

  • Whether practice is handed in
  • Their Syllabus map (counting chats and self-practice)
  • Their Weekly summary (with a count of tutors' comments)
  • Their tutors' progress notes (you can reply)
  • Their messages with you
  • Their sessions and what a tutor says was covered
  • A request to check in if Kindred is worried about their safety (never what they wrote)

What you don't

  • Their chats with Kindred
  • Chats they send a tutor with Ask my tutor
  • Their practice answers and feedback
  • Their own practice questions and answers
  • How they rate their own answers

Straight answers

Will it give my child the answer?

Not first. It's built to ask them to try, then give hints. It's an AI, so it won't always follow the steps in order.

Does it replace a tutor?

No. It's built to work alongside one; tutors use it free for up to 10 linked students.

Will grades go up?

We don't claim that. You see the map and a Monday summary, and judge for yourself.

Can it be wrong?

Yes. It's an AI and it can make mistakes. In a subject chat it names the syllabus objective it used when it finds a close match, so you can check it, and you can tell us.

Who can read the chats?

Not you, and not their tutor. You see how they're getting on. The one exception is a chat your child chooses to send to their tutor with Ask my tutor.

Six things to check in any study app

Ask these of Kindred, and of anything else your child uses. Here is Kindred's answer to each.

  1. Does it give the answer first?

Kindred is built to ask your child to try first and give hints before answers. If they have shown their working and ask to be shown, it will work the problem through.

  2. Does it tell you which part of the syllabus it used?

In a chat set to one of your child's subjects, it looks up their syllabus before it answers and, when it finds a close match, names the syllabus objective it used under the answer.

  3. Who can read what your child types?

Their chats with Kindred are theirs, unless they send one to a tutor with Ask my tutor. In the Monday summary you see how many questions they asked and the topics they fell under; their tutor sees how often they ask, never what. Who else handles the text to run Kindred is in the Privacy Policy. Read the Privacy Policy

  4. What does it cost per subject?

Free for every student, in every subject Kindred covers, with a daily allowance on the AI tutor. Plus is one price for all of your child's subjects, not a price per subject: Rs 299 a month. Founding price until 18 April 2027 (date tentative). One Family Plus covers up to 3 children. See the plans

  5. Can you stop without a fight?

Nothing renews by itself. If you chose to pay monthly by Juice standing order, you stop it in Juice. Free needs no card.

  6. Is there a person you can reach?

Yes. Questions go to the address the Privacy Policy gives: inquiries@kindredtutor.com
