Non-uniform motion
What this topic asks you to be able to do
- show a qualitative understanding of friction and of viscous or drag forces, including air resistance (no work with the coefficients of friction or viscosity is needed, and a simple model in which drag rises with speed is enough)
- describe, and account for in qualitative terms, how objects move within a uniform gravitational field when air resistance acts on them
- understand that a terminal (constant) velocity may be attained by objects travelling against a resistive force
