What this topic asks you to be able to do
- use the standard formulae for ∑r, ∑r² and ∑r³ to work out other sums that can be built from them
- apply the method of differences to find the total of a series that has a finite number of terms
- recognise, by looking directly at the partial sum of n terms, whether a series converges, and work out the sum to infinity where it does
