Series and parallel circuits
What this topic asks you to be able to do
- Recall these facts and use them in calculations: (a) a series circuit has the same current all the way round (b) where a parallel circuit has a junction, the currents flowing into it add up to the same total as the currents flowing out (c) across the components of a series circuit, the individual p.d.s add up to the total p.d. (d) for resistances connected in parallel, the p.d. across each branch matches the p.d. across the whole arrangement
