What this topic asks you to be able to do
- Describe a simple a.c. generator, of either the rotating-coil or the rotating-magnet type, and how slip rings and brushes are used where they are needed
- Draw and interpret plots showing e.m.f. varying with time in simple a.c. generators, and match the coil's orientation in the generator to the e.m.f. peaks, troughs and zeros.
