Graphs in practical situations

What this topic asks you to be able to do

  • Use real-life graphs, including travel graphs and conversion graphs, to read and interpret what they show.
  • Draw a graph using the data supplied.
  • Use rate of change when working on simple problems in kinematics involving a distance–time or speed–time graph, and acceleration or deceleration.
  • Work out the distance covered by finding the area beneath a speed–time graph.
