What this topic asks you to be able to do
- Demonstrate thorough familiarity with what literary texts contain across the three main forms of drama, poetry and prose, backed up by references to the text itself
- Understand what literary texts signify and the contexts that lie behind them, and probe past the surface to reveal a fuller awareness of ideas and attitudes
- Recognise and appreciate how the choices writers make in language, structure and form bring about and mould meanings and effects
- Express your own response to literary texts, showing sensitivity and a sound knowledge of them
